   A with teeth opposing, rather than notching into, one another, opp. καρχαρόδους (q.v.), τὰ συνόδοντα animals with such teeth, Arist.HA595a9.    II Subst. συνόδοντες, οἱ (sg. ἡ, Numen. ap. Ath.7.322b), a kind of sea-bream, prob. Dentex vulgaris, Epich.69, Anaxandr.41.51 (anap.), Archestr.Fr.17, Opp.H.1.170: sg. nom. συνόδων Antiph.132.3 (anap.), Philox.2.15; but συνόδους Sch.Opp.H.3.186, Artem.2.14. Cf. σινόδους, συνώδοντα.
