   A overlay with iron, σιδηρώσας ἐπὶ πολὺ τῆς ὁρμιᾶς Luc. Pisc.51:—mostly Pass., ἐσεσιδήρωτο ἐπὶ μέγα καὶ τοῦ ἄλλου ξύλου iron had been laid over a great part of the rest of the wood, Th.4.100, cf. Aen. Tact.20.2, al.; ῥρυμοὶ σεσιδηρωμένοι IG12.313.21; δράκοντα σεσιδηρωμένον Posidipp.26.8.    II put in irons, fetter, P Lond. 2.422.1 (iv A.D.).
