A separate, part, ἀ. συνεύνων Man. 3.85; ἀ.τὸ τείχισμα Malch.p.412D. II mostly in Pass., -ζεύγνῠμαι, aor. -εζύγην [ῠ] (v. infr.), also -εζεύχθην E.El.284, AP12.226 (Strat.):—to be loosed from the yoke, [βοῦς] εἰς νομὰς ἀπεζεύχθη Babr. 37.6; but usually metaph., to be parted from, τέκνων γυναικός τ' E.HF 1375, cf. Med.1017; εἰ γάμων ἀπεζύγην if I were free from .., Id.Supp. 791; ὀρφανὸς ἀποζυγείς Id.Ph.988; ὥσπερ δεῦρ' ἀπεζύγην πόδας as I unharnessed my feet, i.e. took rest, A.Ch.676.
