   A will, desire, Ep.and Lyr. almost always in dat., θεῶν ἰότητι by the will of the gods, Il.19.9, Od.7.214,al., cf.Alc.13A; μητρὸς ἐμῆς ἰότητι at her will, Il.18.396; κακῆς ἰ. γυναικός Od.11.384; μνηστήρων ἰ. 18.234; ἀλλήλων ἰ. Il.5.874; ἀναιδήτῳ ἰ. with shameless will, A.R.4.360: acc. only in Il.15.41 δι' ἐμὴν ἰ.    II once in Trag., for the sake of, ἰότατι γάμων A.Pr.558 (lyr.).—Hsch. explains it by βουλήσει, αἰτία, ὀργῇ, χάριτι.
