A set fire to, [ὕλην] Hdt.2.107; [τὰ φρύγανα] Id.4.69; ἤν τις ἐκείνας [τὰς ἕδρας] ὑποπίμπρῃσι Ar.Lys.348 (lyr.); the pres. also in Plu.Nic.16, Dio44. 2 burn as on a funeral-pyre, τινας Hdt.2.111, 3.45.
