Lie hid: V. κεύθειν, κεκευθέναι (perf.), Ar. and P. καταδεδυκέναι (perf. of καταδύειν). Lie in ambush: P. ἐνεδρεύειν, ἐλλοχᾶν, P. and V. λοχᾶν; see ambush. Lie: P. and V. κεῖσθαι. Lie in wait for, Met.: P. ὑποκεῖσθαι (dat.). Escape notice: P. and V. λανθάνειν, V. λήθειν. Lurking like a snake: V. ὡς ἔχιδνʼ ὑφειμένη (Soph., Ant. 531).
