P. and V. σώζειν, ἀποσώζειν (Plat.), διασώζειν, ἐκσώζειν, P. περιποιεῖν.

Guard, preserve: P. and V. φυλάσσειν, διαφυλάσσειν, V. ἐκφυλάσσειν, ῥύεσθαι.

Deliver: P. and V. ἐλευθεροῦν, λύειν, ἀφιέναι, ἀπαλλάσσειν, ἐκλύειν (or mid.), ἀπολύειν, ἐξαιρεῖσθαι, V. ἐξαπαλλάσσειν.

Save (by removing from the scene of danger): P. and V. ὑπεκτίθεσθαι, V. ὑπεκλαμβάνειν, ὑπεκσώζειν; see rescue.

Help in saving: P. and V. συσσώζειν, συνεκσώζειν, P. συναφαιρεῖσθαι, συνδιασώζειν.
