v. trans.
Pay back: P. and V. ἀποδιδόναι, ἀποτίνειν (Eur., Or. 655), P. ἀνταποδιδόναι. Recompense P. and V. ἀμείβεσθαι. Requite: P. and V. ἀμύνεσθαι, ἀνταμύνεσθαι, Ar. and V. ἀνταμείβεσθαι; see also punish. Repay with evil: P. and V. ἀντιδρᾶν κακῶς (τινά). Repay with good: Ar. and P. ἀντʼ εὖ ποιεῖν (τινά), P. and V. εὖ παθὼν ἀντιδρᾶν (τινά). Repay measure for measure: V. τὸν αὐτὸν . . . τίσασθαι τρόπον (Aesch., Theb. 638).
