A snow all over, cover with snow, κατένειψε Χιόνι τὴν Θρᾴκην [ὁ θεός], i.e. snow fell over all Thrace, Ar. Ach.138:—Pass., Plu.Luc.24: metaph., sprinkle as with snow, Luc. VH2.14; κατανείψων ἀπὸ γλώσσης ἅπαντας Id.Lex.15. II abs., κατανείφει it snows, κεἰ κριμνώδη κατανείφοι even were it to snow thick as meal, Ar.Nu.965.
