ἡ, a synonym (perh. a variety) of σπάρτος, used for cordage or tackle, Moschio ap.Ath.5.206f:—written λευκέα in BGU544.5 (ii A.D.), Artem.3.59 (who dists. it from κάνναβις), Hsch. II = λεύκη 11.1, λευκαίας στέφανος IG12(1).155 iii 79, iv 118:—hence Λευκαῖος Ζεύς, Zeus of the white poplar, Paus.5.5.5.
