   A throw down beside, παρακάββαλον [Ep. for παρακατέβαλον] ἄσπετον ὕλην Il.23.127; ζῶμα δέ οἱ πρῶτον παρακάββαλεν he put a waistband on him, ib.683.    II make a claim to property together with a deposit (παρακαταβολή) to be forfeited in case of failure, IG5(2).357.58 (Stymphalus), Foed.Delph.Pell.4A7; esp. at Athens,    1 in a διαδικασία κλήρου, of a claimant by descent, will, etc., as against collateral heirs, οὑτοσὶ παρακατέβαλε τοῦ κλήρου ὡς υἱὸς γνήσιος D.44.42, cf. 43.5; ἑαυτῷ κατὰ δόσιν π. ls.4.10, cf.
