Trag., Anaxandr.).<br />Derivatives: <b class="b3">μαγαδίζω</b> 'play <b class="b3">μάγαδις</b>, imitate a <b class="b3">μ</b>., i.e. sing a succession of notes in octaves' (Theophil. Com., Arist.), cf. Schwyzer 736.
