NS. 24, 98ff.); <b class="b3">νάκος</b> like <b class="b3">εἶρος</b>, <b class="b3">φᾶρος</b> a.o., <b class="b3">νάκη</b> like <b class="b3">λώπη</b> a.o. -- Without immediate agreement outside Greek. Since Lidén IF 18, 410 f. one connects the in German. isolated OE [[næsc]] <b class="b2">soft leather like e.g. deer-skin</b>, which through PGm. <b class="b2">*naska-</b>, <b class="b2">-ō-</b> may represent IE <b class="b2">*nak-s-ko-</b>, <b class="b2">-ā-</b>; here also OPr. [[nognan]] [[leather]], if for [[noknan]] from IE <b class="b2">nāk-no-</b> (Lidén Stud. 66 f.). More dubious is the connection with Goth. [[snaga]] m. <b class="b3">ἱμάτιον</b>', s. Lidén l.c. and Feist Vgl. Wb. w. lit. -- WP. 2, 316f., Pok. 754. Cf. <b class="b3">νάσσω</b>. Rather a Pre-Greek word; Fur. 294, 305; the form <b class="b3">νακύριον</b> may point in the same direction.
