Prob. <b class="b3">κραδάω</b> is a denomin., whereby for <b class="b3">κράδη</b> an original meaning <b class="b2">the swinging</b> can be assumed, what agrees well with the meanings <b class="b2">crown (of a tree)</b>' and `<b class="b2">suspension-machine</b> (Fraenkel Denom. 19f.). Or <b class="b3">κραδάω</b> is as zero grade iterative derived from a lost primary verb (cf. Schwyzer 719 Mom. 4, Leumann Lat. Gramm.317c) to which <b class="b3">κράδη</b>, <b class="b3">-ος</b> is a backformation. Diff.
