On the other hand [[σφοδρός]] is prob. to be judged like [[οἰκτρός]], [[φοβερός]] a.o.; together with [[σφεδανός]] it can go back on an [[r]] : <b class="b2">n-</b>stem (Benveniste Origines 20) [improbable].
