Arist.HA544b5, Sor.1.51, 2.41, Gal.6.700, Vict.Att.8, Aret.CD1.2, Gp.15.1.19; λαβεῖν φ. ἀντὶ περιστερᾶς a wild pigeon for a tame one, Pl.Tht.199b, cf. Alex. Aphr. in Top.117.9.—Luc.Sol.7 coined a masc. form φάττος.
