A administer an oath to one, c. acc. pers., or abs., ἐξορκούντων οἱ πρυτάνεις Foed. ap. Th.5.47, cf. D.21.65, IG22.1174.15: c. fut. inf., ib.2.841b35: folld. by ἦ μήν (Ion. ἦ μέν) Hdt.3.133,4.154: later, c. pres. inf., J.AJ9.7.4: c. acc. pers. et rei, make one swear by, ἐ. τινὰ τὸ Στυγὸς ὕσωρ Hdt.6.74.
