Rebe), gew. im Plur. verbēnae, ārum, f., die Zweige des Lorbeers, Ölbaums, Myrtenbaums, der Zypresse, Tamariske usw., als heilige Zweige von den Fetialen, wenn sie Bündnisse schlossen od. Genugtuung forderten, auf dem Kopfe getragen (vergl. Serv. Verg. ecl. 8, 65 u. Aen. 12, 120), Verg., Liv. u. Plin.: ebenso von schutzflehenden Priestern, Cic. Verr. 4, 110: und beim Opfern u. anderen religiösen Handlungen zum Bekränzen od.
