A quiver, shake, found in the following forms: καθαρίζειν (κανθαρίζειν Ammon.Diff.p.79 V., τανθαρύζειν cj. Valckenaer) μὲν λέγουσιν οἱ Ἀττικοὶ τὸ τρέμειν, τονθορύζειν (-ίζειν Ammon.) δὲ τὸ ψιθυρίζειν καὶ γογγύζειν Ptol.Asc.p.410 H.; τανθαλύζει (ταντ- cod.)· τρέμει, Δωριεῖς, οἱ δὲ σπαίρει, Hsch.; ἐτανθόριζον· ἔτρεμον, Id.; ταονθορύζειν· τρέμειν, Phot., Suid. (cf. ἐκτανθαρύζω, τανταλίζω, παμφαλύζω, τοιθορύσσω): hence τανθαρύκτρια, cj. Valckenaer for τοιθορύκτρια (q.v.): τανθαρυστὸς ὅρμος a necklace quivering with suspended gems, Theopomp.Com.95.
