Dor. εὐμάχ- [μᾱ], ον,    I of persons, skilful in contriving, inventive, opp. ἀμήχανος, A.Eu.381 (lyr.), Pl.Prt.344d, etc.: c. gen., εὐμήχανος λόγου Id.Cra.408b; ἁλίων εὐ. ἔργων Opp.H. 4.593: with a Prep., εὐ. πρὸς τὸν βίον, of birds, full of devices for supporting life, Arist.HA614b34, cf. 616b34: Sup., of the bee, Gp.15.3.1; ἔν τινι D.S.20.92: τὸ εὐ., = foreg., Plu.2.830c. Adv. -νως Ph. 1.170, Plu.Per.31, Aristaenet.2.15, etc.    II Pass., of things, skilfully contrived, ingenious, ἐκ τῶν ἀμηχάνων πόρους εὐμηχάνους πορίζων Ar.Eq.759 (-ος πορίζειν Bentl.); ἐπίνοιαι Pl.R.600a.
