(v. infr.), Lucan.9.723:—a serpent, the bite of which causes intense thirst, Arist.Mir.846b11, Thphr.HP9.11.1 (cj.), etc.; δίψιος Nic.Th.147; mortification followed, Ael.NA16.40.    2 a kind of lizard, Nic.Th.817; also called σαύρα Χαλκιδική, Dsc.2.65.
