A ὦ τὸν Ἄδωνιν Sapph.63; Ἀδώνι' ἄγομεν καὶ τὸν Ἄ. κλάομεν Pherecr.170; ὥδωνις, i.e. ὁ Ἄ., Theoc.3.47:—hence, generally, favourite, darling, δεῖ Ἀδώνιδας αὐτοὺς ἀκούειν Luc.Merc.Cond.35, cf.
