   A snatched up, carried off, ἀ. γίγνεσθαι to be carried off, l. c., Pl.Phdr.229c.    2 carried up the country, i. e. into Central Asia, ἀ. γίγνεσθαι πρὸς βασιλέα v. l. in X.Mem.4.2.33.    II of things, ἀ. ποιεῖν τὸν βίον to give up his substance as plunder, Plb.9.26.7, cf. Hdn.7.3.3.
