I A king in Assyria, afterwards in Cyprus; father of Myrrha, and, by her, of Adonis, Ov. M. 10, 299 sq.; cf. Hyg. Fab. 58; 242; 270; acc. Gr. Cinyran, Ov. M. 6, 98; voc. Cinyrā, id. ib. 10, 380.—Hence,
