Ἐς δὲ τὰ ἔσχατα νουσήματα αἱ ἔσχαται θεραπεῖαι ἐς ἀκριβείην, κράτισται → For extreme diseases, extreme methods of cure, as to restriction, are most suitable.

v. trans.
P. and V. λύειν, Ar. and P. διαλύειν. Interrupt (in speaking): P. ὑπολαμβάνειν, Ar. ὑποκρούειν. It often interrupted me in the middle of speaking: P. πολλαχοῦ δή με ἐπέσχε λέγοντα μεταξύ (Plat., Ap. 40B). Interrupt me in the middle if you like: P. μεταξὺ ἐπιλαβοῦ ἂν βούλῃ (Plat., Sym. 214E). Hinder: P. and V. ἐμποδίζειν. Prevent: P. and V. κωλύειν, ἐπικωλύειν; see prevent. Put a stop to: P. and V. παύειν; see end.
