Etymology: Unhaltbare Hypothesen von v. Blumenthal Hesychst. 6 (als illyrisch zu aind. dhānā́ḥ f. pl. Getreidekörner, lat. -līx, fēc-undus) und von Jokl bei W.-Hofmann 1, 475, wo weitere Lit. (zu faciō, τίθημι usw. als "Setzung, Besitz" [?]). Nach Schulze Q. 288 A. 4 (S. 289) einfach für διαί, d. h. ζεαί (s. d.). — Latte z. St. erinnert an δατῶναι· ζειαί H.
