   A treat with contumely, outrage, maltreat, ὁρῶν ἐμαυτὸν ὧδε προυσελούμενον A.Pr.438 (προσηλούμενον with ε written over η, cod.Med.; προσελούμενον cett.); οὓς μὲν ἴσμεν εὐγενεῖς . . προυσελοῦμεν Ar.Ra.730 cod.Rav. (προσ- cett., προυγελοῦμεν Stob.): προσηλούμενον is written in codd. of Ael.Ep.3; Hsch. has προσέλει· προπηλακίζει, προυγελεῖν· προπηλακίζειν, ὑβρίζειν; cf. προυσελεῖν λέγουσι τὸ ὑβρίζειν EM690.11; προσελοῦμεν· προπηλακίζομεν, ἐλαύνομεν, εἰσβάλλομεν, Suid.—The etym. is unknown.
