aor. ἀνώρθωσα E Alc.1138, Isoc.5.64, etc.: plpf. with double augm. ἠνωρθώκει v.l. in Lib.Ep.1039: the double augm. is common in the compd. ἐπανορθόω:—
A set up again, restore, rebuild, τὸν νηόν Hdt.1.19; τὸ τεῖχος 7.208; τὸ στρατόπεδον Th.6.88, etc.; τὸ σῶμά τινος E.Ba.364:—Med., ἀνορθοῦσθαι τὰ πίπτοντα τῶν οἰκοδομημάτων have them rebuilt, Arist.Pol.1322b20. 2 restore to health or well being. πόλιν S.OT46: τινά Pl.Lg.919d. 3 set straight again, set right, correct, τινά E.Supp.1228; τὰ ἀλλότρια κακά Pl.R. 346e.
