A distress, pain, Hsch.; but in Ep. used in Pass., to be exhausted or worn out, weary oneself, δηθὰ στρεύγεσθαι ἐν αἰνῇ δηϊοτῆτι Il.15.512, cf. A.R.4.1058; δηθὰ σ. ἐὼν ἐν νήσῳ ἐρήμῃ Od.12.351; ἄσθματι σ. Tim.Pers.93; σ. καμάτοισι A.R.4.384; νούσῳ Call.Cer. 68: abs., to be distressed, suffer distress or pain, A.R.4.621, Nic.Al. 291.
