I one who practises set speaking, a rhetorician, declaimer (diff. from orator, a practical speaker, Quint. 10, 2, 21): non enim declamatorem aliquem de ludo aut rabulam de foro, sed doctissimum et perfectissimum quaerimus, Cic.
