Buttmann, 18 (16)), ὁ, (עֻזִּיָה and עֻזִּיָהוּ, strength of Jehovah, or my strength is Jehovah), Ozias or Uzziah, son of Amaziah, king of Judah (circa) 811-759 B.C.> (Ιωραμ, Οχοζιας, Ιωας, Ἀμαζιας, Ὀζίας. He seems therefore to have confounded Οχοζιας and Ὀζίας; see another example of (apparent) confusion under Ιεχονιας. (But Matthew has simply omitted three links; such omissions were not uncommon, cf. e. g. Ezra 7:1 ff See the commentators.)
