be prolonged (in time): P. and V. χρονίζεσθαι.
I thank old age for this favour only, that it has prolonged my life so far: P. χάριν ἔχω τῷ γήρᾳ ταύτην μόνην, ὅτι προήγαγεν εἰς τοῦτό μου τὸν βίον (Isocrates 413A).
