Etymology: Aetius 1, 3, 20 gives the definition κρούνωμα βρότειον. DELG thinks that Bollack did not prove a relation with νῆστις. Cf. Mayer, Mél. Boisacq 2, 135. Krahe, Spr. der Illyrier 1, 85 supposes *ned-ti-, comaring the group Νεδα. Cf. Perpillou, 1972, 113f.
