Reduce to ashes, v.: Ar. and V. καταιθαλοῦν, καταίθειν, V. καταμαθύνειν, Ar. σποδίζειν; see burn.

Be reduced to ashes, v.: V. καπνοῦσθαι, κατανθρακοῦσθαι, ἀνθρακοῦσθαι.

He was redneed to ashcs: V. ἐφεψαλώθη (aor. of φεψαλοῦσθαι) (Aesch., P.V. 362).
