Portray: P. and V. εἰκάζειν. Imitate: P. and V. μιμεῖσθαι, ἐκμιμεῖσθαι (Xen. also Ar.), P. ἀπομιμεῖσθαι. Generate: a see generate. They reproduce a mother's shame: V. ἐκφέρουσι . . . μητρῷʼ ὀνείδη (Eur., And. 621).
