v. trans.
P. and V. ἱέναι, ἀφιέναι, φθέγγεσθαι, V. μεθιέναι, χεῖν, θωΰσσειν, γηρύεσθαι, Ar. and V. χάσκειν, λάσκειν, ἐκχεῖν; see also speak, proclaim.
Fling out: P. and V. ἐκβάλλειν, V. ῥίπτειν, ἐκρίπτειν, ἀπορρίπτειν.
Utter by way of reproach: Ar. and V. ἐπιγλωσσᾶσθαι.
No one dared utter a syllable: P. ἐτόλμησεν οὐδεὶς... ῥῆξαι φωνήν (Dem. 126).
