A wheedling, wily, mostly of words, αἱμύλα κωτίλλουσα Hes.Op.374; μῦθος Pi.N.8.33, cf. Ar.Eq.687; also αἱ. μηχαναί A.Pr.208; μὴ κλωπὸς αἴνει φωτὸς αἱμύλον δόρυ E.Rh.709; of persons, τὸν αἱμυλώτατον S.Aj.389 (lyr.), cf. Pl.Phdr.237b, Lyc.1124; of foxes, Ar.Lys.1268 (lyr.).
