   A ὠρόθυνα Lyc.693 ; imper. ὀρόθυνον Il.21.312 :—stir up, rouse, urge on, mostly of persons, Il.13.351, etc.; also of things, πάντας δ' ὀρόθυνον ἐναύλους 21.312 ; πάσας δ' ὀρόθυνεν ἀέλλας Od.5.292 : c. inf., urge one to do, A.R.1.522, 1275.— Ep. word, used in Pass. by A., στάσις τ' ἐν ἀλλήλοισιν ὠροθύνετο Pr. 202 ; and Herm. restores ὀροθύνεις (for ὀρθεῖς or ὀρθοῖς) in E.Ba. 1168 (lyr.).
