   A hunting spear, and generally, spear, pike, D.S.18.27, 20.33:—also written ζιβύνη (q.v.), συβίνη, PCair.Zen.362.34 (iii B.C.), cf. [[συ[μ]βίνη[ς]]] (post συβήνη) · καπροβόλον, ἐμβόλιον, Hsch., but σιγύνης [ῡ] is prob. not related. (Illyrian acc. to Fest.p.453 L., citing Ennius.)
