   A falling back, Nonn.D.3.30; recurrent, Theol.Ar.57: in early writers only in neut. as Adv., back again, ἂψ ἐπὶ νῆας ἔεργε παλιμπετές Il.16.395; ὡς . . ἐν νηῒ παλιμπετὲς ἀπονέωνται Od.5.27, cf. Call.Del.294, A.R.2.1250, etc.

[Seite 448] ές, zurückfallend, zurückkehrend; das adj. erst sehr Sp. – Adv. ist παλιμπετές, zurück, z. B. ἂψ ἐπὶ νῆας ἔεργε παλ. Il. 16, 395, ἐν νηῒ παλ. ἀπονέωνται, zurückkehren, Od. 5, 27, wo einige Alte es für eine syncopirte Form statt παλιμπετέες erklärten (vgl. Buttm. Lexil. I p. 42). Nachgeahmt von sp. D., wie Ap.
