A woman's head-dress or veil, a kind of mantilla, κ. ὅ ῥά οἱ (sc. Ἀνδρομάχῃ) δῶκε χρυσέη Ἀφροδίτη Il.22.470; κρηδέμνῳ δ' ἐφύπερθε καλύψατο δῖα θεάων 14.184: pl., [Πηνελόπεια] ἄντα παρειάων σχομένη λιπαρὰ κ.
