A ἀμφοῖν S.Ph.25, etc., dat. ἀμφοῖν Aj.1264, etc.:—both, of individuals, Il.1.363; of armies or nations, 2.124:—Hom. uses only nom. and acc.: from Hom. downwards freq. with pl. Noun or Verb, Il.2.767, 7.255, etc.; ἐξ ἀμφοῖν, = ἐξ ἀλλήλοιν, S.OC1425: sts. indecl., h.Cer.15, Arist. Top.118a28, Theoc.17.26, A.R.1.165. (For the root cf. ἀμφί.)
