   A spin, Hom. only aor. Med., ἅσσα οἱ κατὰ Κλῶθες νήσαντο the happenings which they spun out to him, Od. 7.198; of a spider, νῇ νήματα Hes.Op.777; στήμονα μακρὸν ἔνησα Batr.183; πέπλους τε νῆσαι S.Fr.439; στήμονα νήσω Ar.Lys.519; νῶσαι μαλθακωτάτην κρόκην Eup.319; τὰ νηθέντα Pl.Plt.282e: 3pl. νῶσι occurs in Ael.NA7.12 (as if from νάω), cf.
