From LSJ
English (LSJ)
A = κρυόεις, chilling, horrible, πολέμου . . φόβος A.R.2.607 ; ὀ. βᾶρις, of Charon's boat, AP7.67 (Leon.) Parm.(?)20 ; ὀκρυόειν ἔδαφος Eleg.Alex.Adesp. 1.7. (Freq. confused with ὀκρυόεις : ὀκρυόεις may have arisen from an early mistake in the division of words in Hom. (leg. ; or ὀκ. may be cogn. with Skt. άσρυ, Lith. ašara 'tear', and the Adj. would then mean tearful.)
