A wicker basket tied upon the ἅμαξα, body of the cart, πείρινθα δὲ δῆσαι ἐπ' αὐτῆς [ἀμάξης] Il.24.190, cf. 267; τὰ μὲν ἐς πείρινθα τίθει Od.15.131.—Hom. only uses the acc. πείρινθα; gen., A.R.3.873 : πείρινθος cited as nom. by Hsch., EM668.21 :—also πείρινθα, ibid.
