   A ἀν-ερρίπτουν ἅλα πηδῷ 13.78, where it suits the metre (but not the Ion. dialect); so in Ar., ῥιπτεῖτε χλαίνας Ec.507; διαρριπτοῦντε Id.V.59; in Trag. ῥιπτέω is never either guaranteed or disproved by the metre, ῥιπτείσθω A.Pr.1043 (anap., cod. Med.), ῥιπτεῖ S.Aj.239 (anap.), Ant.131 (anap.), Tr.780, ῥιπτεῖν E.Tr.734 cod. P, ῥιπτοῦνθ' Hel.1096 cod. L, ῥιπτοῦντες Heracl.149 codd. LP; ῥίπτετ' and ἔρριπτον are guaranteed by the metre in E.HF941, Ba.1097, so that ῥίπτων, ῥίπτει may be accepted in E.Ba.150 (lyr.), Hel.1325 (lyr.); ῥιπτέω is found also in Prose, ῥιπτεῦσι Hdt.4.94 (v.l.); ῥιπτέουσι ib.188, cf. 7.50 (ἀνα-), 8.53, Th.4.95 (ἀνα-), Pl.Ti.80a, Arist.Ph.266b30, Mu.396a2, Plb.1.47.4, al., Agatharch.26; ῥειπτουμένων OGI629.158 (Palmyra, ii A.D.), etc.
