or nazir; from נָזַר; separate, i.e. consecrated (as prince, a Nazirite); hence (figuratively from the latter) an unpruned vine (like an unshorn Nazirite): Nazarite (by a false alliteration with Nazareth), separate(-d), vine undressed.
