O. 333, entweder gen. definitiv., so daß also das [[γῆρας]] eben selbst der [[οὐδός]] ist, das Alterdie Schwelle des Lebens; d. i. das letzte Stück des Lebens, das Ende des Lebens; oder vom Anfange des hohen Alters, wofür οὐδ' ἵκετο γήραος οὐδόν Od. 15, 246 spricht, er gelangte nicht zu hohem Alter, vgl. 23, 212, H. h. Ven. 106; oder vom höchsten Greisenalter, auf der Schwelle, die dieses vom Tode scheidet, wofür Il. 24, 487 sprechen könnte, wenn nicht sonst [[οὐδός]] τινος die Schwelle hieße, über die man in Etwas hineingeht. Aber spätere Dichter, wie Qu. Sm. 10, 426, sagen so οὐδὸς βιότου, die Schwelle des Lebens, über die hinaus man in den Tod schreitet, also = [[τέλος]] βίου.
