A ball of dung, such as that of sheep or goats: hence in pl., σφυράδων ἀποκνίσματα scraps of sheep's or goats' dung, Ar.Pax790, cf. Sch., Hsch.s.v. σφυράδες. 2 Medic., pill, τρεῖς σπυράδας Hp.Mul.2.147.—Cf. σπύραθος.
