   A σταμίνες Poll.1.92, Hsch.; acc. pl. σταμῖνας Moschio (v. infr.); Ep. dat. pl. στᾰμῐνεσσι: (ἵστημι):—in pl., the ribs or frame-timbers of a ship, which stand up from the keel (expld. as ὀρθὰ ξύλα, οἷον στήμοσιν ἐοικότα, Aristarch. ap. EM724.56), Od.5.252, Poll. l.c., Nonn.D.40.446: but = ἐπηγενίδες in Moschio ap.Ath.5.206f,207b.
